Verbena (vervain)
It has been associated to supernatural forces. It was called "tears
of Isis" or "Juno's tears". Folk legend stated that was used to staunch
Jesus' wounds after his removal from the cross. It is also called "Holy
Herb" or "Devil's Bane".
Vervain flowers are engraved on Cimaruta, Italian anti-stregheria charms. In the 1870 The History and Practice of Magic it is employed in the preparation of a mandragora charm.
In my story is a poison for vampires. The Volturi use it to torture vampires and Royce uses it for torture Rosalie and for poisoning Emmett.
